Accounting software for trading and distribution companies in Egypt
A trading or distribution company lives on three numbers: what customers owe, what suppliers are owed, and what the stock is worth. Cutme Accounting covers the first two with customer and vendor ledgers, VAT and withholding tax, and values stock at moving weighted-average cost. Companies that need live stock control, barcodes and ETA e-invoicing use Cutme Warehouse, a separate service.
The typical scenario
Goods are bought from local suppliers or importers, sold on credit to shops and other traders, and collected over weeks. Margins are thin, so a few uncollected invoices or a miscounted shelf can wipe out a month's profit. Most sales carry 14% VAT, and many supplier payments are subject to withholding tax.
Workflows that matter, and how Cutme Accounting handles them
- Credit sales and collections: sales invoices and receipts post to each customer's account; the customer statement shows the balance and movements for any period.
- Supplier purchases and payments: purchase invoices and payments post to each vendor; withholding is recorded on supplier invoices and listed in the withholding report for Form 41.
- Withholding by customers: tax withheld from your receipts is recorded as receivable, so it is not lost when you settle.
- VAT: output tax on sales and input tax on purchases come together in the VAT return, calculated from the ledger.
- Stock value: the Accounting inventory module keeps items and movements and values them at moving weighted-average cost.
- Gross profit: the income statement shows revenue against cost for any period.
Accounting, Warehouse, or both?
Cutme Accounting is the books: ledgers, tax and financial statements. Cutme Warehouse is stock operations: live balances per product, sales orders that cannot oversell, stock counts, barcode and QR labels, stock reports, and ETA e-invoicing for sales orders (off by default, set up per company).
A distributor that mainly needs correct books and tax picks Accounting. One whose daily pain is the warehouse picks Warehouse. Many use both — but the two are separate systems with separate databases: a sale entered in Warehouse does not post to Accounting, so each is kept on its own.
What Cutme does not do
- Accounting and Warehouse do not share data; running both means recording sales in each.
- One stock location per product in both Accounting and Warehouse; no multi-warehouse, batch or lot tracking.
- No reorder alerts: Warehouse has a low-stock report with a threshold you type when you run it.
- No point of sale, no product import and no e-commerce integration.
