Accounting software for multi-branch retail in Egypt
A retailer with several branches needs to know what each branch earns and holds in cash, and to pay staff correctly. Cutme Accounting gives each branch its own cashbox and reports profit per branch through cost centres on journal entries; Cutme HR tracks staff by branch with attendance and payroll. Cutme has no point of sale and no per-branch stock, so the tills stay on a separate POS.
The typical scenario
Two to ten shops under one company, each with a till, a cashbox, a branch manager and staff on shifts. The owner sees takings arrive in cash and card settlements, but not which branch actually makes money once rent, salaries and stock are counted. Late arrivals and absences at a branch the owner rarely visits go unnoticed until payday.
What Cutme covers for a multi-branch retailer
- A cashbox per branch: Cutme Accounting's treasury holds several cashboxes and bank accounts, with transfers, deposits and withdrawals between them, so each branch's cash is reconciled on its own.
- Profit per branch: cost centres are tags on journal entries, with a profit-and-loss report per cost centre. Invoices are not tagged, so branch revenue and costs are assigned by journal entry — see the cost-centres guide.
- Branch accounts: the hierarchical chart of accounts can hold a sub-account per branch for sales, cash or expenses.
- VAT and statements: the VAT return is calculated from the ledger, and the income statement, balance sheet and cash-flow statement cover the whole company.
- Control: per-action permissions and a field-level audit trail, with unlimited users, so a branch accountant can enter data without seeing everything.
- Staff by branch (Cutme HR, separate subscription): branches in the organisation structure, shifts and attendance with lateness and overtime, leave approvals by the line manager, and a monthly payroll linked to attendance.
Where the till and the stock fit
Cutme does not run the till: there is no point of sale or cashier screen. A retailer keeps its POS for selling and records each branch's daily takings in Accounting. Stock is the other gap: both Cutme Accounting and Cutme Warehouse track one stock location per product, so they cannot show how much of an item sits in each branch.
Cutme fits a retailer whose priority is correct books, branch cash and staff — not one looking for a single system to replace its tills and branch stock.
What Cutme does not do
- No point of sale, cashier screen or card-terminal connection.
- No stock per branch: one stock location per product in Accounting and Warehouse.
- Invoices are not tagged with a cost centre; branch profit is built from journal entries.
- Accounting, HR and Warehouse are separate subscriptions that do not share data.
