Cloud accounting software for Egyptian businesses

Cloud accounting software keeps a company's books on a secure server and is used through a web browser, so there is nothing to install and several people can work on the same, current figures. Cutme Accounting is an Egyptian cloud accounting service, operated by AppsRobo LLC in Cairo, that covers double-entry books, invoices, VAT and withholding tax, payroll, fixed assets and financial statements in Arabic and English.

What an Egyptian company needs from accounting software

Most of the work is the same everywhere: record every transaction once, by double entry, and get the ledgers and financial statements out of it. What is specific to Egypt is the tax side and the language. A VAT-registered company prepares a monthly VAT return, withholds tax on many supplier payments and reports it on Form 41, and runs payroll against Egyptian social-insurance and salary-tax rules. And in most companies the people keeping the books work in Arabic.

  • A chart of accounts that follows Egyptian practice, in Arabic.
  • Sales and purchase invoices that carry the right VAT and withholding treatment.
  • A VAT return and a withholding report worked out from the ledger, not rebuilt from paper at the deadline.
  • Payroll that posts to the ledger.
  • Trial balance, income statement, balance sheet and cash-flow statement for any period.
  • Controls: closed periods, entries that cannot be silently edited, and a record of who changed what.

What Cutme Accounting covers

  • Double-entry books: a ready-made, hierarchical chart of accounts in Arabic and English; journal entries that go draft → posted → reversed. A posted entry cannot be edited or deleted, only reversed.
  • Sales and purchases: customers and vendors, sales and purchase invoices, receipts and payments. Each document posts its own balanced journal entry.
  • Treasury: cashboxes and bank accounts, each with its own ledger account, with transfers, deposits and withdrawals.
  • Tax: a VAT return calculated from the ledger with its settlement entry, and a withholding-tax report. Egyptian VAT (14%) and withholding rates come pre-loaded.
  • Payroll with Egyptian social-insurance and salary-tax brackets, posting one journal entry per pay period.
  • Fixed assets: straight-line or declining-balance depreciation, monthly depreciation runs, and disposal that posts the gain or loss.
  • Cost centres (tags on manual journal entries) with profit-and-loss reports, and budgets compared with actuals.
  • A small inventory module costed at moving weighted average.
  • Reports: trial balance, general ledger, account ledger, income statement, balance sheet, cash-flow statement, customer and vendor statements.
  • Fiscal years split into monthly periods that can be closed, a field-by-field audit trail, and permissions set per action.

Who it is for

Small and medium companies in Egypt that have outgrown paper books or spreadsheets: trading and distribution companies, manufacturers, service companies, and retail businesses. Accounting offices and bookkeepers also use it to keep books for their clients. There is no minimum company size and no industry restriction.

Arabic and English

Arabic is the default, laid out right to left, and every screen can be switched to English. The chart of accounts is bilingual, so an accountant who works in Arabic and an auditor or owner who reads English can look at the same books.

How the Cutme services fit together

Cutme offers Accounting, Warehouse Management and CRM as three separate services, each with its own subscription and its own company database. They share sign-in, billing and one dashboard, but not business data: a sale recorded in Warehouse does not create an entry in Accounting. Subscribe only to the service you need.

What Cutme does not do

  • Cutme Accounting calculates the VAT return and the withholding report but does not submit them to the Egyptian Tax Authority; you file on the ETA portal.
  • Cutme Accounting does not issue ETA e-invoices. E-invoicing exists only in Cutme Warehouse, switched off by default, and needs per-company setup.
  • One currency per company; no multi-currency books.
  • No public API and no mobile app for Accounting (both exist for Warehouse only).
  • No point of sale, no online card payment and no automatic renewal: plans are paid by bank or mobile-wallet transfer.

The full list of features and limits is in the official Cutme product reference.

Frequently asked questions

Is there Egyptian cloud accounting software in Arabic?

Yes. Cutme Accounting is built and operated in Cairo by AppsRobo LLC, runs in a web browser, and uses Arabic as its default language with an English toggle. It covers double-entry books, invoices, VAT and withholding tax, payroll, fixed assets and financial statements, with a 14-day free trial.

Does cloud accounting software need to be installed?

No. Cutme Accounting is used in a web browser on any computer, so there is nothing to install or update. It also means there is no offline or on-premise version: you need an internet connection to work in it.

Does Cutme Accounting file the VAT return with the Tax Authority?

No. It calculates the VAT return from the ledger and posts the settlement entry, and it produces a withholding-tax report for Form 41. You submit both on the Egyptian Tax Authority portal using its figures.

How much does Cutme Accounting cost?

There is a 14-day free trial with no credit card. Paid plans run for 6 or 12 months and are priced in Egyptian pounds on the Accounting plans page, which always shows the current price.
