Count stock and correct balances
Enter counted quantities and keep a history of every adjustment.
A stock count brings the system in line with what is really on your shelves. You type the counted quantity as the new balance, and Cutme records the difference as an inventory modification with the previous and new balance, the date and the user, so every correction can be traced.
Steps
- Print or export your product list (Manage Products → print, CSV or XLSX) to use as a count sheet.
- Count the shelves (printing barcodes makes this faster).
- Products → Inventory Modifications. Find the product and enter the counted quantity as the new balance.
- Save. The difference is recorded as an adjustment.
- Products → Inv. Mod. History shows every adjustment with its date and user.
Good to know
- Only products whose new balance differs from the current balance are saved; leave the others empty.
- Count when no sales are being entered. The difference is calculated from the balance shown when you opened the screen.
- Inventory Modifications and their history are available to the Manager role by default.
Common questions
Why not just change the quantity on the product's edit page?
Changing the quantity on the edit form changes stock without an adjustment record. Inventory Modifications keeps the previous and new balance and who made the change, which you need when you investigate differences later.
Example: the system shows 70 and I counted 68. What happens?
Enter 68 as the new balance and save. Available stock becomes 68, and the history shows a change from 70 to 68 with your name and the date.
